We are a young organisation born in August 2014 with the intention that one day locals can harvest, cook with shared recipes and then eat produce from the fruit trees they planted with their own hands. Our site is in the heart of White Gum Valley, Fremantle, adjacent to Hazel Orme Kindergarten.

In 2024 we are celebrating 10 years onsite and all our orchard in the ground and starting to produce delicious harvests. We will be negotiating another 5 year licence with City of Fremantle.

Breaking News! Our beautiful Picnic Shelter is built – take a visit!

Thank you Sam and Dave for your fine carpentry work and use of recycled timbers and Australian plantation timbers for a sustainable build. We look forward to the shade and shelter it will provide us in future community events and harvests.

In April we harvest olives for oil!!!

In 2018, 19 and 20 we are picked on verges in the Valley and in Booyeembara, picking a total of about half a tonne of olives. The oil percentage varies but we end up with around 70-90 litres of oil. Want to join the next harvest?

In our 3rd summer on site we are now harvesting bananas and figs

It has taken a while for the many hands of Cavendish bananas to ripen but they are finally turning yellow as the summer wears on and tasting good. We also have a small crop of figs on our Blue Jenny fig. We have a policy of if you give a little to the Orchard, then feel free to enjoy its fruits as they ripen. If you’re not a member yet, sign up here or on our mailing list for busy bees and other events, email us.
